Challenge A IEW week 4 paper.

Every week the Challenge A students complete a writing assignment from our Bible BasedWriting curriculum. This week we are highlighting Karlie's paper.

Faithful Servants

By Karlie Bigham

There once were three servants, who had a harsh master. Two of the servants were trustworthy, and the other was lazy. One day their master was going away for some time, but before his departure, he gave one servant ten thousand dollars, the second four thousand dollars, and the third two thousand dollars, because he wanted them to increase his money. Two of the servants right away went and did business and in doing so, wisely doubled their money, while the one with two thousand dollars went and buried his master’s money fearfully.

Upon their master’s return, he naturally found that his two industrious men gained money, as where the unreliable one did not. Then the master said to the two servants, “because you have been faithful in the little things, I will appoint you over much. Then they rejoiced together in a job well done, which gave their master much happiness.

When it came time for the master to confront his final servant, he was very displeased and called him a despicable and lazy slave, because he could have invested the money, but since he feared his master he buried it instead, which was a waste. So he justly seized the money from the lazy slave and gave it to one of the servants that gained. For those who are faithful with little, will be entrusted with more. Although those who want more, what they have will be taken away. For indeed, being a faithful servant is pleasing to the Lord.
